Dear Santa

eye pad from Santa -- GRRRRRReat!

You’re naughty this Christmas!

Just because you’re not happy with my letter you sent me an eye pad instead of iPad — and an angry one at that!

You think I’m gonna cry and pout? You think I’m gonna huhuhu while you’re enjoying your hohoho?

Good news — I had no bad feeling this Christmas. In fact, I have a feeling that this one will forever stay in my heart. It was so beautiful Santa — honoring Jesus on His day and being grateful for His presence all year through!

Anyhow, thank you still for the eye pad. You, the elves and the reindeers must be very tired by now.  Have your 11 months rest!

Hoping that you got thank you letters as much as wish letters,

rea

Anne of Green Gables

That redhead imaginative optimistic chatterbox orphan is so lovable! She has limitless energy and dream big! Thanks to Lucy Maud Montgomery for writing Anne of Green Gables – I enjoyed it a lot, 102 years after its publication!

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned about that book when I was young? She could have been one of my best friends aside from Nancy Drew and Perry Mason. But then it’s not yet too late now — “I solemnly swear to be faithful to my bosom friend, Anne Shirley, as long as the sun and moon shall endure”. There Anne, I can be one of your best friends aside from Katie Maurice from behind the bookshelf, Violetta your echo and Diana Barry!

Thank you Theresa for mentioning Anne and for this comment, “Whenever believers make the wrong choice it makes their hearts sick and feel terrible pain”. This is so very Anne, don’t you think so? And isn’t this fitting too this Christmas when we might blame the feast on the table for making our heart and stomach sick?

Thank you Anne! My kiddos are happy for me — for the smile on my lips and the excitement in my eyes when I tell them about you — Ann with an ‘e’! And they tried to answer one of your questions too, “Which would you rather be if you had the choice — divinely beautiful or dazzlingly clever or angelically good”?

Can you answer the question easily without worry that you could be making the wrong choice?

:)

Thank you for heeding the angel that you take Mary as your wife who’s already conceiving with Jesus. Thank you for protecting her on the way to Bethlehem and knocking on inns. Thank you for being considerate, faithful and loving husband!

Thank you for being Jesus’ earthly father, for being a good teacher, provider and builder. Truly you are a man of character who’s fit to be a family man. Thank you for treating Him like your own child – the child who will save us!

Thank you for the inspiration that you are to all men for loving, valuing and leading the family towards God.

I respect you deeply,

Dear Mary,

In 23 days you’ll give birth to baby Jesus. I know your worries since this is the first time you’ll be giving birth. I remember the first time I gave birth, I screamed a lot in pain and fear! The public hospital rejected me because they have an apprehension if they can handle me and my baby’s safety. So I have to gave birth in a clinic.

For the succeeding babies it became easier to give birth or should I say I knew better to tolerate the pains rather than scream! It might have gone easier but the pain in my heart got heavier each time. I have been trying to accept that for each truckload of joy there seemingly came with it a bundle of pain. Oops where I am now? Back to you Mary.

What I am trying to say is thank you for bearing all the pains so that we can have our Savior! Thank you for being an inspiration. When I feel so weak and in pain, I think of you. Of how strong and blessed you are because you know God is with you. With me too, right?

Take care now and I will be celebrating with you — with your mamahood!

Blessed too,

Dear Santa, I run out of stationery...

Dear Santa,

It’s 25 days before Christmas and I would like to let you know these:

1.  I will no longer tell my kiddos that you are coming to town.

2.  The kiddos will no longer see their mommy kissing Santa Claus.

3.  The kiddos will no longer wonder why Santa gave them gifts but their mom did not!

4. The kiddos will know who wrapped those gifts. Nah, it’s not the elves!

So, this is goodbye I guess but for whatever it’s worth, here’s again my “Thank You!” for the wooden alphabet block when I was 3. Loved  it!

Merry Christmas Santa!

rea here, with thanks!

P.S.1 – Just in case your sleigh passes through here, please throw in books by Keri Smith but be careful with the iPad. Turn it over smoothly. Okay?

P.S.2 – You know what I really want, right? It’s ok if you don’t have the capacity to give it. I know someone who can. Take care now. I won’t forget your rosy cheeks and your HO HO HO!

:)

What are your Christmas wishes? Would love to pray for it :)
