Amazing Gift

12/20/2010

He knows what I want.

I have been begging for Him to give it to me. I even bargained with Him non-stop as if He needed what I am offering. Then I got tired of it all — begging and bargaining so I stopped. I opened my heart and decided, “Jesus I don’t want my Christmas to be Christmiss. So this Christmas whether there is no present to unwrap and presence to entertain it will be all good — You are more than enough”.

I felt peace. I am at peace with Him. But Holy Christ, just as when I decided that He is enough He gave me what I wanted! How do you explain that?

These thoughts ran in my mind like crazy:

1. Amazing! He is amazing!

2. Why beg when you can think BIG — Believe In God!

3. It won’t be Christmiss if I make it Christmust!

4. There is always a gift when I open my heart for His presence!

5. Amazing! He is amazing!

God thank you for a Merry Christmas! Accepting the gift of You entails so much more — You are the most generous ever! I know I sometimes forget about it despite the air that I breathe moment by moment!

My kindest friends thank you for your prayers — it doesn’t hurt when you ask for help!

What can I do for you?

I like the part, “… I stopped. I opened my heart and decided.” Thank you for helping me to stop and seek Him! It’s far too easy to get wrapped up in this world. And thank you for helping me think ‘BIG’ 🙂

You already did it, ‘spoon’…with your post…sometimes I get so afraid with those worries of my life that I forget to do the most important thing…Let Go and Let God. 🙂 Thanks for the beautiful reminder! God bless you with an extra special Christmas. 🙂

Oh how worries take so much of our time torturing our own selves. I want my kiddos to believe me when I say not to worry because things will be taken care of yet sometimes I can’t let God do the same for me when He is more capable. But I’m learning — He is a great teacher!
      🙂

  3. The love for Christ that you have expressed touches my heart. I am always glad when I see people share what the Lord is doing in their hearts and lives!

  4. Rea, You wrote: “just as when I decided that He is enough He gave me what I wanted! How do you explain that?” His love is Divine!

What can you do for me? Pray for me, too, that I can trust that He is enough and let Him take care of the rest. He’ll know what you are talking about. 🙂 Peace, Linda

      His love is Divine!
      Got to remember that Linda
because I believe more blessings are coming!
Will pray for you too Linda and I’m excited
      for His answers to you!

    Think BIG

I like that. 🙂 My devotional reading this morning centered around how we approach our Father. Your lovely offering complements it well.

I forget sometimes too. Thanks for the reminder that the very breath we breathe is a gift from Him.

    Blessed, broken and breathing,
    ann

Ann I would like to know more how I should be approaching our Father. I actually talk to Him just like the way I talk to anyone else — sometimes playful but always with deep respect. Sometimes I even think that He is teasing me and we’re having fun! May He forgives me if this is a wrong way to think of Him!

What a great reminder of how BIG our God really is. We take for granted those basic needs and then God shows up… and we are just blown away. Thanks bendedspoon for reminding us that God never gives up on us. I really love your concept #2 Why beg when you can think BIG — Believe In God! 🙂

    • bendedspoon Says:

Pat what a difference when I think BIG.
When I beg I felt my entire being is twisted
and God looks at me sadly.
When I think BIG I see God smiling
with the wonderful possibilities I dream of!

Rea . . .you just did it. Reading this was the most precious gift to me. Hearing how He enters in so graciously and generously blessed me so much. Thank you!!!!

    • bendedspoon Says:

Deb He never ceases to amaze me!
He gave it in His time
      — after 40 minutes!
His love is indeed new each morning
      — 10 minutes past midnight I got it!
I recorded the time, I hope He won’t mind 🙂
