Sometimes our deep concern for the person makes us critical. But it’s this failure to express our thoughts nicely that makes others doubt our good intention. Praying for sincere and empowering expressions of love for all of us 🙂
I always know I need to run to Him whenever I get too critical of anyone or anything. ugh. Don’t want to be spreading that around. Thank you for another great quote to make us think and be better.
Abraham Lincoln said, “He has a right to criticize, who has a heart to help.” Criticize all that you may wish. Just make certain that the money, time and talent you are being generous with can be applied to the occurrences you are spending an ample amount of time criticizing.
I like this quote. As you do so often, thanks for making us take time to think and reflect!
Rea, What a great quote! It’s a good reminder that there are some things we should not be generous with. It reminds me of the old saying, “If you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all.” So let me just say what a wonderful blog you have, and what a terrific and loving heart you reveal everywhere you go. 🙂 Peace, Linda
P.S. I was going to say (and had even typed) there there are a lot of people who didn’t have a mom who taught them this, then I realized that was being critical so I deleted it. But then I thought that this thought process about what I had typed was worth sharing.
The inclusion of your thought process says something about you Linda — you know how to admit whatever does not make you feel right and you make the effort to align it. More reasons to respect you. You are always special to me Linda. Hugggs 🙂
Jay, I think I have an idea who easily comes to your mind when the word ‘criticism’ pops up. Mum about it…lol!
Thank you for being generous with your appreciation and understanding. Love and blessings to you 🙂

Criticism is the last thing I want to share, but then I do it anyway. Nice, gentle reminder… : )

It’s one thing that we could wish to get tired of — the soonest 🙂

Isn’t that the truth! I have to work on being less critical at times. Whenever I criticize it just makes me feel worse.
Thank you for this thought provoking post. 🙂
Love,
Theresa

And sometimes we found ourselves the victim of our own criticism. Not good. Best to run to Him, indeed! 🙂

I liked this one…Criticism definitely should be rationed.

Agree! I don’t want it to each much of my time 🙂

Your thoughts are very much appreciated Tara! And I wonder if there is time to criticize if the heart is working 🙂

What a great quote! I LOVE it! I know more people that are generous with their criticism than they are with their time, money or talent! lol 🙂

Oh my gosh… Frank Howard Clark is right. I don’t want to be generous with some things.

I like the thought of being selfish on some things 😉
