She looked up. So sure that she will reach the top with ease.

She had her life perfectly mapped out four years ago. She thought she only need to do step 1, then step 2, then 3…

She didn’t foresee the storm coming. She had been looking up and only saw a clear sky.

She thought storms only build up from above, not from the corners of the home.

“What’s wrong with the power lines?”

“Nothing is wrong. Just a storm coming. I guess.”

Lies swung her back and forth from wall to wall. Real painful each time the soul hit the hard cold surface.

She was unprepared to hear the insults which made her want to dig the floor with her bare trembling hands and stay underneath forever.

She thought that coloring the blackberry blue is odd enough but not until someone colored her skin blue and black.

The door. She had to reach the door and run while she could. She couldn’t stay and be beaten to death. What would the kiddos get out of a dead mama?

She never remembered running any faster than that day. Suffering, more than tired, she looked up to see her clear sky.

“The storm is here.”

I Am Singing

Pain can be a grace
in the midst of hurting
a song can be heard
from someone who lost interest
in music
when the music teacher
of two decades ago
when I sang out of tune.

With shells cracked
Someone wants me healed
music tried to seep in.
How do we sing when broken?
with cracked voice
with bleeding heart
with bruised spirit
with deep feelings
with desperate pleading.

Pain can be a grace
I can sing
I want to sing
I am singing
not for any music teacher
not for hardcore critics
but for Someone
who wants to listen
to my life song.

For Jingle Poetry on Songs

For staying strong. One of my favorite songs – “Get up there’s more to be done…”

And the singing never stops with this brilliant award!

“Why would I be nervous when it’s all for God…?”

That’s from Maricor, when asked if she was ever nervous performing at church during worship.  She’s a sponsored child of Kat through Compassion. There were tears…

But I guess that’s how it is when the soft spot in our heart isn’t hardened yet with bitterness.

When we acknowledge that we are capable of loving.

When we actually love.

Thank you to everyone who loves beyond themselves.

If you feel that what you are giving is just a little portion, know that it could be the biggest break that one could ever get.

If you feel that what you are giving is a big portion that eats your budget, know that the seed could grow into tree that will bear fruits and more seeds and more trees… The blessing will come around to you more than treefold — really fruitful!

Looking for smiles? Want to smile? Maybe this is it…

Compassion Bloggers: Philippines 2011

Thank you and yes, why would we be nervous when it’s all for God?

Why would we be nervous when we could be grateful instead?

I am thankful for…

warning signs

good catch

the opportunity to reach the stars

a time to rest

How about you, what are you thankful for today?

Please share some, don’t be nervous.

 Walls to protect me

To keep the devils away

But there’s one within.

I need a Fortress

Beyond solid structure

Where I can be free.

For us — Be Strong.

A girl dreamt of being a princess

Rescued by a mighty prince charming

And living happily ever after in the castle up the hill.

She woke up a warrior

Fought the foolish prince with sword of faith

And living hopefully ever after for the kingdom beyond the hill.

For the warrior in you — I salute.

Black Beauty

Black  is the coal which provides heat

Black is the night where one can see the beauty of the stars

Black is the pencil lead which first introduced me to art of handwriting

Black is the tea that soothes me

Black are the olives in the numnum pizza

Black are my eyes which can see the good in you.

For Jingle Poetry on Color, Rainbow, and Spring

Black rainbow I see

But it won’t dishearten me

I have faith in Light

V is for Vulnerary

Today, we think about ourselves.

Today, we think about vulnerability.

We want to be authentic.

To be just us.

To heal the wounds and be able to trust again and be silly if we want to and not be insecure and not fear possibilities.

Time heal wounds —  not just any time though.

But time spent with the Lord.

But time spent appreciating and serving others.

But time spent planting the seeds of future harvests.

Yes, today we are thinking about ourselves even though we are thinking beyond ourselves for it is in this way we heal fastest so we can be vulnerable again and be authentic again and love some more again and enjoy life again.

VULNERARY is a remedy used in healing or treating of wounds.

Be Okay, Okay?

T is for Trade

Love and trust for sale

For thirty pieces of silver

Plus free kiss on the cheek

What is your thirty pieces of silver?

Don’t keep hanging on it

The trade is not worth it.

Blessings to you!  No trade-off.

S is for Shape

What is the SHAPE of your love?

Is it cordiform?

Is it hominiform?

Is it cruciform?

Got to shape up your love because it determines the shape of your relationship.

On the Cross it is all love. Thank you Jesus.

PAREIDOLIA   is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant.

Yup, they call it pareidolia when I saw God’s face in the clouds.

It is pareidolia when I saw GOD in a pie.

(Not mine. Whoever saw this must be filled-up without eating it)

Some say the truth is: The human brain is hardwired to recognize faces and derive order from chaos.

And the misconception is: Religious nuts sometimes see Mary, Jesus and other supernatural beings in common objects.

Admittedly I am nuts but I doubt if I am religious because I still have so much to learn about God. And if I did learn some more, will it make me religious? But yes, I love God and if seeing Him is being nuts then — I am nuts.

I can actually see God’s smiling face, can’t you?

I can actually see you in your words, can’t you see me?

Here’s to seeing love in your freckles or in your wrinkles or in the mirror!

I is for In Posse

IN POSSE humans are perfect. Do you agree with that?

In posse means in potential but not in actuality; in possibility.

In posse you can be replaced. Yes, here are the evidences!

Zaky Hand Pillow - Your Baby Is In Good Hands - photo

Yours are no longer the hands that rock the cradle!

Yours is no longer the hug that matter!

Yours is no longer the milk that nourish!

Do you feel like crying now? Go ahead as long as you have a tissue in tow!

Now I’m crying because of evolowtion!

“We are from ape!” says some — triumphant!
So can we now act like a monkey?
Who wish we’re from elephant?
Looks like you are nosy.

Why is it so hard to accept
That God made us humans
That He is most magnificent
That we are all His creations?

Is it best to prove how we evolved
Or to focus on how we are evolving?
When we detach ourselves from the Creator
No need to prove that there is an evolowtion!

For Jingle Poetry on Environment, Evolution, and Survival.

Be grateful because IN ESSE God loves you!

In esse means in being; in actual existence.

Are you happy with that?

Meaning something that is worthless or trivial or unimportant.

Why waste so much effort in writing and pronouncitiaticazating er pronouzing — Ok, in saying it! In saying it to describe something trivial? Oh men why do we make our lives so complicated?

Is there a need to say, “You are floccinaucinihilipilification too!” to somebody who said that you are floccinaucinihilipilification? That you are not good enough? That you are not beautiful?

Yes you can but be sure that you can pronounce it perfectly! I could not *sigh*.

Otherwise let’s just move on and accept that we can’t demand others to love us.

But never stop loving and doing something and appreciating and believing and…

FORGIVE the floccinaucinihilipilification, you are beautiful.

FORGET the floccinaucinihilipilification, you are amazing.

Go ahead be beautifully amazing. You are originally designed as such by the Artist.

E is for Eek!

Eek! I would have not felt this good if I didn’t have an expergefacient!

Yes, our E word for today is EXPERGEFACIENT which means awakening.

Expergefacient made me realize these 5 things, among others:

1. I cannot please everyone but if I please the only One it is more than enough.

2. There is always something to laugh and cry about. I can choose!

3. In a relationship one can love more than the other. I can be the more loving one.

4. I am never alone. I can reach out. I can allow someone to reach me out.

5. Sometimes the best people to learn from isn’t the most intelligent or eloquent.

Now would you be sweet enough to share your EXPERGEFACIENT?

ENJOY your blessings!

You know that it grow EXPONENTIALLY if it is shared, right?

D is for Duh

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are the stars in DUMB and DUMBER. And I star in DUMBEST!

For tasting my daughter’s poo when she was a toddler 12 years ago! I am feeding her with lentil soup and next thing I know I picked up what seemed to be a mung bean and put it in my mouth. Yuck!

You think I learned my lesson in not eating my kiddos left over (yeah in this case it’s spill over)? Well, I learn to eat only what’s left in the plate.

My kiddos think this story is hilarious but it’s not funny for me at the time. But now I learn to smile about it because I felt it empowered me. What is there to fear more than poo? Tigger? Ha, hear me roar!

With my dumbest, it’s now your turn to share and let’s see how dumb, oops how human, you are.

I will be DELIGHTED if you share but most of all if you have stopped beating yourself and have moved on. If not yet, please remember DAVID from the rooftop

Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

I’m clapping for you who are reading this! I’m so happy that you are well today!

We clap to show our appreciation and amusement. We usually do it for others but it’s good to clap for ourselves too. See what it can do to you by clapping the moment you wake up and say your praise or declare that, “I will have a wonderful day today! I will make it happen!”

Not all though is happy to see you clapping. If this makes you uneasy then practice one hand clapping which now brings us to the age-old question, “What is the sound of one hand clapping?”

Now please allow me to clap in appreciation for a wonderful C blessing — Creative Blog Award!

Thank you so much Deirdra of A Storybook World! Deirdra is a professional writer and illustrator and looks like she is a fairy too — see her fairy wings!

Oh God I feel so C today — CONTENTED. Far from what I felt a few years ago…

When I was a little miss
I had only one Sunday dress
Its color is yellow
And I love it so
Each Sunday I was excited
Smiling as I get dressed
I felt like a princess
With my yellow dress
When I turned into a woman
I had more clothes than some
But funny how I felt less
Stressed and depressed
Having more isn’t being more
If inside I felt so poor.

Can we now CHEER UP and CLAP? One or two hands, it’s good for us!

Yes we’re going to talk about blah blah blah. Nothing but blah blah blah.

Tired of blah blah blah? Then let’s check another B word – BATTOLOGIST. Nope this isn’t the person who study about bats or batman.

Battologist is a person who unnecessarily repeats the same words, phrases, or ideas. I repeat it is a person who repeats the same thing unnecessarily.

Battologist, are you?

Me? Without a doubt I am not. Yes never doubt it. Believe me I am not.

Why don’t you ask my kiddos? On second thought, please do not.

At home there is a mom battologist

Remind her kiddos, she cannot resist

Everyday she says

Do not forget this .

Do not forget that. Obey, she insist.

For Luna’s Poetry Month Clambake! Let’s have some fun! Please share your poems too.

Battologist, are you? Are you?

C  you on Monday!

Let’s Go Fishing

Not for fish but for happy thoughts!

To the sea we go – our sea where we have thrown our happiness before we sulked under the tree and allowed the worm of unhappiness to pull our lips down and take the brilliance in our eyes. Yay!

Now take those worms and drown it on the sea. Is that barbaric? How about burying them in the soil really deep? No you don’t want to use it as bait. Just cast the pole of belief, imagination, and love and you’ll be surprised of the big catch!

It could be your kiddo’s little hand guiding you to reach the cookie jar.

It could be you best friend’s pull when you were sinking.

It could be the diamond ring which you don’t need but still it was given.

It could be the chocolate wrapper that makes the choco sweetest.

not a shadow of a doubt, a choco is loved

It could be your blog friends who left a smiley instead of saying uggghhh.

It could be that one beautiful word that made you smile so big. Precious? Saved?

It could be the date. What today is March 24? I love you hubby!

Now go fish and catch yourself smiling!

No Gain, No Pain?

  3. Less Sorrowful Searching – smiley!

  10. More Couples Are Calling It Quits – game over!

There are signs that made me glad, sad, and very sad.

I’m very sad for sign number 10.

What is it about money that loosens the bind of marriage and family?

  1. Because it can buy a spaceous house and leave each other alone?
  2. Because it can make you hold so much except each others’ hands?
  3. Because it can buy time thus no need to rush home to the family?
  4. Because it can make you dream big and leave the family behind?
  5. Because it can buy toys for the kiddos thus no need to bond?
  6. Because it can spill over thus keep it in someone else house?
  7. Because it can buy you a new face and nose and heart?
  8. Because it can treat the problem to a shopping spree?
  9. Because it can buy friends, love, and respect?
  10. Because it can make you forget how to kneel?

Money money money…

Prayer warriors please share your prayers for the family, marriage, and handling of finances. The world needs the Word.

Why Me?

“This could not be happening to me! Why me?”

When bad things happen we have the tendency to lament and ask, “Why me?”

Why me? Why me? Why oh why me!

Why not?

Why not ask it when we receive our daily graces?

I have the choice to stand up and move on. Why me?

I have fantastic blog friends. Why me?

I have 4 kiddos who kiss and hug me. Why me?

I have a hubby who asked for forgiveness. Why me?

I have a God who saved me. Why me?

“This could not be happening to me! Why me? Why me?”

Ever imagine ‘Why me?’ to sound this good?

Bat Mind Return

Batman Returns -- Thanks Google

The animal kingdom
Sought the counsel of the Bat
For the problem that they got
It says the same words and it works.

The Lioness paid a visit,
“I want to divorce my Lion
He doesn’t care for my pride.”
Then the Bat advised…

The Bear paid a visit,
“I don’t want to live any longer
I don’t have my honey anymore.”
Then the Bat advised…

The Ant paid a visit,
“I’m quitting
There’s no way to reach the top of the anthill.”
Then the Bat advised…

The Crab paid a visit,
“I no longer want to follow my dream
What with those crab mentality?”
Then the Bat advised…

The Bumble Bee paid a visit,
“I’m loosing hope
I can’t find job and I don’t want to be a bum.”
Then the Bat advised…

Then one day they all return to Bat
To say thanks for their better life
All because they follow its advice

I visited the Bat too and asked,
“Where do you get that wisdom?”
And it answered, “From my Creator
who told me to hang on and I obey.”

I shared this entry to Idylls For the King and I encourage you all to submit your fiction, poetry and lyrics that glorify God. Go go go for God!

Blessings to everyone as we hang on to Him!
