L is for Lalala

04/14/2011

LALALA we will have some fun today for I am bringing you the L of poetry — LIMERICK!

I only learned about Limerick last month after more than 3 decades of existence here on earth!  Thanks to Madeleine where I stumbled upon it!

What is a Limerick?

A limerick (is):

  1. is five lines long,
  2. is based on the rhythm “da-da-DAH” (anapest meter)
  3. has two different rhymes.
  4. Lines 1, 2, and 5 have three of those da-da-DAH “feet,” and rhyme with each other.
  5. Lines 3 and 4 have two, and rhyme with each other.
So the basic form is:

da da DAH / da da DAH / da da BING
da da DAH / da da DAH / da da DING
da da DAH / da da BAM
da da DAH / da da WHAM
da da DAH / da da DAH / da da PING

I understand the rhyme but I don’t totally understand the rhythm. I go duh! But then that won’t stop me from trying and shaming myself because it’s fun! Anyone who wants to teach me and correct my 3 Limerick attempts is most welcome and appreciated — have mercy, teach me please!

Now here are the 3 Limericks.

( 1)
A woman is hysterical
Her man turned into a jackal,
How come when they vowed
No hurting allowed,
Love is no longer magical.

(2)
The man jumped out of the window
Good that the house is bungalow,
The cat laughed out loud
Oh what a coward,
He’s afraid of his own shadow!

(3)
Today I decided to be happy
I won’t snap on anybody,
Lalala good day
It is our payday,
Can I have pie and green tea frappe?

Now enter the fun part. In the comment please come up with your own Limerick using any of the 1st line of the 3 Limericks. Please try, please please please! And enjoy!

We’re not yet done with LALALA because I am sharing with you a very special award from Luna — Luna’s Soul Award 2011! If you have not yet met Luna please check my J is for Jejune post. You will respect this woman with a beautiful soul.

E is for Eek!

04/06/2011

Eek! I would have not felt this good if I didn’t have an expergefacient!

Yes, our E word for today is EXPERGEFACIENT which means awakening.

Expergefacient made me realize these 5 things, among others:

1. I cannot please everyone but if I please the only One it is more than enough.

2. There is always something to laugh and cry about. I can choose!

3. In a relationship one can love more than the other. I can be the more loving one.

4. I am never alone. I can reach out. I can allow someone to reach me out.

5. Sometimes the best people to learn from isn’t the most intelligent or eloquent.

Now would you be sweet enough to share your EXPERGEFACIENT?

ENJOY your blessings!

You know that it grow EXPONENTIALLY if it is shared, right?

🙂

I am scared

Tara has been doing that and beyond.

Tara is a wife to a member of US Navy and a young mom of 2 beautiful daughters.

Tara was a stroke patient who learned to walk again. Her left side of the body once lost the ability to feel thus, burnt herself a number of times.

Tara has a sight loss.

Tara has prosopagnosia meaning she will never see the same face twice — not even her own face. So never get tired of meeting her again and again and again. You will be glad that you meet her anyway — again and again and again!

Tara’s words are full of hope and wisdom. She said this, “I am glad to realize that even though you may not have sight, does not mean that you cannot have a vision.” And this, “Remember we all lose something at times; however, when that loss has cleared away, what is remaining may turn into our newest prized possessions.”

Tara’s incredible spirit of positivity can inspire us to push our limit of what we think we are capable of doing; of giving thanks; of celebrating. Maybe we can learn from her. She actually wants us to celebrate with her — hear her here.
🙂

Tara, in our language it means ‘LET’S GO’. Shall we now go to her and say Hi? Don’t be surprised if you find her awesome because she truly is!

🙂

Sure we have given thanks to the blessings we got!

How about the one on its way, did we say thank you already?

Lord thank you for the wonderful day I am having tomorrow!

Thank you for the smiles I will give and receive!

And yes thank you for the hugs! I won’t let go unless they hug me back!

Thank you for the steaming hot rice, clean drinking water and the surprise viand on our dining table tomorrow!

Thank you for the rain! Oh if it doesn’t rain, thank you for the sunshine then!

Thank you for the sunshine! No worry if you send rain, I have my umbrella!

How possible are those blessings tomorrow?

What? We are not sure if we will have tomorrow?

Then we have more reasons to give thanks now.

After all I haven’t heard of wasted thanks, have you?

As for me, I am giving thanks now of what I will receive tomorrow and be excited about it!

Oh well, we can be excited for the blessings on the coming weeks, months, years and even eternity!

Willing to share of what you will give thanks?

🙂

Thank God for the apple seed!

This is according to me — this how to — but if you echo the same thought then it is according to us! Sweet!

Gratitude is a domino effect leading to the Source of all things and when you are connected to the Source you can’t help it but be good!

When I’m thankful for an apple it goes like this…

“This apple is really good! numnumnum

Thanks apple tree! numnumnum

Thanks apple seed! numnumnum

Thanks God! numnumnum

Oh God, You’re sooo good! numnumnum

I got to be good too — despite that the apple is gone now!”

Am I quirky? Oh why do I ask when I know it’s Yes!

Thank God!

Now let’s appreciate an apple pie.

Remember the Ingredients!

🙂

simple faith

Deb always starts her poem with

“And here’s a simple poem…”

and I suspect that her humility

makes God smile.

The thought of her poem is actually grand

it can touch the spirit as if a magic wand.

Why should it not when hers

is full of faith and God’s grace!

Check the comments too, where angels abound

Yay, I’m in there too!

Seriously please check her place for the

MASTER’S PIECES!

🙂

WARNING: There are treasures in between the  lines so, don’t miss a word! And yes, you can share your found treasures in the comment because it’s not all tangible, right? And sometimes it really is — tangible.

Smile, you're a STAR!

It’s my 4th month anniversary in blogging!

What’s special with 4?

Hmm nothing. I just want to celebrate my craziness!

4MONTHS OF REALIZATION

1. Everyone has a degree of AWESOMENESS! Some resonates with you; some don’t and it’s all okay.

2. I love the community in here who honors the differences and finds time to appreciate! Yes that’s YOU!

3. I started loving my crazy self again! Yes this is actually part of my journey with HIM!

4. IT’S OK TO ASK FOR HELP! Give others the opportunity to help because I believe everyone wants to if they can. You all helped me actually regardless if I asked from you directly or not. Who helped me use the link? Who helped me with the changes in here? Who helped me with some of my posts via the idea that came up through comments, your own posts and yes your photos! Who helped me see the alternate views through your shared thoughts? Who helped me pray? Who helped me keep going for saying there is nothing in here? For saying there is something in here?  WHO? I believe everyone is raising their hands. And now don’t ask me why I love you ha!

4MODIFICATIONS

1. I added a ‘boOK HUNTing‘ page. List of books recommended by other bloggers which interest me. You can make the list longer because you can’t resist recommending that great book that you have read!

2. I removed the ‘imperfect being’ in my tagline. Nope, I am not perfect. I just don’t want to spoonfeed you — I mean, why state the obvious when it’s so obvious that I’m obviously perfectly imperfect? So, I’ll just SPICE UP YOUR WORLD because your posts are the awesome appetizer, main course and dessert! Hmm, altogether we’re a feast, right? BURF! Yes, I like BURF than burp!

3. Can you see what else is trivially new?

4. Anything else? No more? It’s okay, you saw 3 out of 4 and that’s aweSOME!

4MEMORIES

1.I remember my first post ‘Green and Pretty’. Got to preserve the memory of that green shoes which was so loved by my daughter.

2. I remember the 1st one who commented. It’s Charles of Read Between the Minds. I was delighted and shocked at the speed of this blogging thing! Being a first timer in blogging world, I was so lost on my first post. While still tweaking here and there, that endeared comment popped up. To say that I AM grateful and overwhelmed is an understatement!

3. I remember the 1st comment I made  in another blog. It was Theresa’s Moore to Ponder. I was hesitant for fear of misinterpretation but what the heaven, I love the place so I had to say it and I’m glad I did — I love the woman behind!

4. I remember the 1st blog I commented via the comment section of one of my fave site. It was Deb’s Blog. I can’t resist not to appreciate her style. Mini post with maxi enlightenment!

4MUCHOS GRACIAS

What’s a celebration without saying Muchos Gracias? Yes Muchos Gracias (4x) for allowing me a glimpse of how  1) awesome, 2) strong, 3) special and 4) a STAR you are! And if anyone actually want to have the star necklace that I have made please just say anywhere in your comment, “rea, shine on!” and don’t forget to email me the address where I shall send it with love. Send the address not later than November 7 at recreate_save@ymail.com

🙂

Have you noticed how cheesy, corny and usually crazy I am today? That’s actually part of the package of who I am. To complete my cheesiness here’s a song I’m leaving for EVERYBODY. Yes, you have to actually LISTEN to it, PLEAAASE!

STAR, I will see you and reply to you in 3 days time

and while I’m away could you please help me?

Pitch in your idea of  blog name or tagline

I could have used if not bended spoon.

Think of the big women blogs you know because I’m heading there

and I want to take all of you and own it as much as I do.

Afterall, you are the WISDOM part of my tagline!

I know you are the PUN and FUN too

but for heaven’s sake, let me own it that I may have a part too! Okay?

Seriously, I am dreaming! 🙂

I know you subscribed to bended spoon already and

it’s an honor, my pleasure, and a blessing!

Whaaat, you will also tell your friends to subscribe and smile?

Now, my gratitude is up to the moon!

🙂

Thank you so much for celebrating with me

and looking forward for the next celebration!

And oh by the way, there’s something special with 4,

I have 4 kicking kiddos whom I love and adore!

🙂

And I said, “OH NO!”

I didn’t know that he is a pastor until today!
I’m glad I only knew today otherwise, I wouldn’t dare comment in his place.

He’s really cool that I had no idea. He may not approve of the ‘cool’ description but that’s just it for me. And this is not to say that pastors are not supposed to be cool.

Today he recommended so many great Christian sites and you bet I didn’t comment no matter how I like or agree with the entries because I haven’t confirm yet if those are Pastors’ site — I find it hard to get serious today. But of course, I still want to be blessed!

GO SEE DARREN! See I call him Darren. Bless my soul!

Darren of Better Life Coaching

How about you, do you know a cool pastor?

Ladies if any of you is a saint, for heaven’s sake, speak out!

You will pray for me, don’t you?

Pleeeease!

🙂

The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss

Thank you Tisha for making me stop and appreciate. Keep on inspiring with your Biz Mommy!

What makes my heart swell? Here are 3!

1.  Us — my hubby, my kiddos and I, taking turn reading Dr. Seuss book and having a good laugh! “Left foot, right foot, feet, feet, feet. How many feet you meet.”

2.  Whenever one of us cook (hubby, me or 1 of the kiddos) and we all say, “Delicious! Thank you!”

3.  When we show and say how much we value each other. Like the excitement on my kiddos faces each time I come home plus hugs, kisses and I love yous! I thank God sooo much for that!

What’s your 3 things? Please share it in your place or in the comments — got to hear that!

🙂

The Janitor

10/07/2010

The Janitor -move your mind and heart

You’re a CEO who is loosing control of your business and personal life — yourself, your marriage, your family. Would you heed the advice of the janitor?

Roger Kimbrough, the CEO did.  He had a weekly green tea meeting with janitor Bob Tidwell who shared six simple but powerful principles.

You can read and ponder what truly matters to you through the lives of the CEO and the janitor in the book THE JANITOR by authors Todd Hopkins and Ray Hilbert.

And here’s to share with you briefly the six principles that turned around the life of the CEO.

1. RECHARGE VS DISCHARGE. If you keep pouring energy out and you don’t recharge ,then one day you’ll run empty. You’ll burn out. A burned-up brain won’t start up.

2. VIEW YOUR FAMILY AS BLESSINGS NOT RESPONSIBILITY. Tell your family you love them; remind them of how much they mean to you.

3. PRAY NOT POUT. Sometimes when your plate is full, God will give you great insight on what is important to focus on and what needs to be removed from your plate entirely.

4. PASS IT AROUND. Share your knowledge and wisdom to everyone before it is too late. Anyone can give a meaningless gift. That would be no great reflection on my character, would it?

5. DON’T SPEND; INVEST! Invest your time in things that have value. Is there some eternal significance in what I am doing? Does it have any eternally significant impact on someone else?

6. LEAVE A LEGACY. It doesn’t matter if you live 2 thousand years or twenty. What matters is how you fill the space between the dates on your gravestone. Let your wisdom live and multiply in each life that you touch.

There, THE JANITOR can help me pick up the pieces and I’ll surely enjoy an evening with him sipping hot green tea. How about you?

pumpkin pie plate

Last week my friend Juliet and I have gone furniture hunting for her place.

She took home a lamp and I took home a pumpkin pie plate.

Can I tell a short story? Oh I can, thanks!

Me: “How much is that pumpkin pie plate?”

Vendor: “P100.00 (US$2.28)”

Me: “Can I have it for P80.00 (US$1.82) if I promise you that this plate won’t be used for pumpkin pie?”

Vendor: “Uh ok then.”

Methink: “God I promised that I won’t use this for pumpkin pie. I trust You now to find a good use for this. After all this cost me P80.00!”

When I got home and washed the plate I saw this

martha stewart collection -- pumpkin pie plate

God do I have to get excited because I got a Martha Stewart?

Do I have to get excited that this pumpkin pie plate

originally cost $19.99 and on sale at$9.99?

Oh I have to — yesssssss! Martha Stewart I got you for only $1.82!

That’s the story of my pumpkin pie plate but the real story of this title is HEEEEERRE!

Check the comments and share with my excitement, pleeeeeze!

Here’s one of the  lines in the comment section, “Wait… What???? Holy Jeebus. I didn’t see that!”

When I commented there’s no watermark  and GOD caption yet so imagine my excitement upon seeing HIM!

Thanks for checking and right now I believe in 2 things:

1. God is amazing for this early Thanksgiving!

2. The person reading this is amazing, really!

Please share what you believe in, amazing being!

🙂
