Don’t Wear Your Iglasses

03/03/2011

I am scared

I am busy

I am nobody

I don’t matter

I will fail

I am not good enough…

Don’t wear your Iglasses

and make endless excuses

why you’re not honoring the gifts

that you have been blessed.

Please try at least, don’t resist

or better yet, use contactSense.

For Thursday Poets Rally Week 39.

For my fears and for failing to vote for The Celebrate Poet of Spring in 2011!

I failed and still I am blessed to be one of the winners! How amazing is that?

Thank God for the holy pen that won me a cool penguin!

Thank God for the cool and wonderful poets who voted for me!

Here they are to guide you to their poems that gave me a smile!

Inspired by iMac, iPhone, iPod and iPads?

    I am courageous
    I am free
    I am somebody
    I matter
    I will succeed
    I am good enough…
    Wear these Iglasses
    and make endless successes
    honoring the gifts
that you have been blessed with
    Please do, don’t just try
    I can I can I can!

    • bendedspoon Says:

Love love love it! You rock in those Iglasses!

Inspired by the discomfort of my own eyeglasses especially in running and playing badminton; especially when I beg off for that reason! I think I’m the only one who can’t put on my own contact lens.
Here’s to seeing more beauty each day! 🙂

  2. Oh, I needed to hear that! I’m known for making excuses for my laziness and tendency to procrastinate! 😉

And the term “contactsense” is inspired!

  3. I needed to hear this…so much truth! Great job!

  4. frayedges Says:

Awesome! This should be pasted on every bathroom mirror.

  5. Julie Laing Says:

I had to laugh over your entry–such a fun play on words. I’d lose the different font for I, though; Your piece is strong enough that I don’t think it’s necessary.

  6. Silvertongue Says:

Masterful use of language and a powerful message make for a good read. We may actually see things clearer without our Iglasses on.

  7. Reggie Says:

bended…a very classy write indeed…very well done.

  8. that is sound advice.. i needed it badly.

  9. dragonkatet Says:

I loved the play on words in this and the deeper meaning behind it! Thanks for the reminder! 😀

  10. A.B. Thomas Says:

Self defeat, it’s one of the greatest of our enemies – fantastic write and congrats on definitely merited honour!

  11. dhitzunako Says:

  15. a very humorous and witty poem Bendedspoon 🙂 loved it.

  16. NcMerci Says:

What I get out of this is “you need to look beyond yourself and appreciate what is around you”. Good writing 😀

  17. Full of cleverness and wisdom, and a unique approach.

  18. rmpWritings Says:

“I” quite relate…though I think it depends on the tint if the Iglasses…I hear rose colored is the way to go, though mine are a murky blue…I think orange is probably the way to go. Enjoyed you poem!

  19. thoughtsnotlost Says:

Just say no to iGlasses! Loved it!

  28. Cograts on winning, and I really enjoyed this poem, especially the last line, “or better yet, use contact sense.” Brilliant! Writing is the best therapy!

  29. Sam Says:

    Very witty…I love it.

  30. Julian Javier the Cyber Mushroom Says:

I agree with this poem! people should use and share their gift and not keep it in the deep recesses of their minds only. like me, i have a talent for poetry so i use it and share it everywhere. nice poetry.

    in our tongue:
    – “kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw maraming dahilan.”
    in english:
    – “if you are willing there’s a way, if you are not willing there’s a bunch of excuses.”

    • bendedspoon Says:

That’s great that you share your talent!

Tongue switch: I am amazed how these great poets welcome the new comers and try to appreciate the works of each one; no matter how simple mine is compared to theirs.
      Blessings to everyone! 🙂

  31. afirmin Says:

You succeeded in more ways than you will ever know with every soul you have touched through your generosity and words.

    Congratulations 🙂

    Take care Alan.

    • bendedspoon Says:

Alan, knowing all of you is a blessing and the greatest is when the hearts connect! And I am truly grateful for those who connect with mine!
      I can feel it! 🙂

  40. Yes, we should honour our gifts instead of making excuses… 🙂

Just like you, I fail to cast my votes yet I am blessed to receive from others.. I was touched and somewhat melted my resentment over certain issues I am struggling with right now..

I am glad I made you to be the 2nd on my list today for this week’s Rally.. You reminded me of God’s gifts…
